How to make an adjustable elastic headband.

How to make an adjustable elastic headband
For this headband we have used fold over elastic (FOE) you can use any elastic you like.
You will need:
Cut your elastic to length and heat seal the ends.
Take your 61cm length of fold over elastic (FOE) and feed your ring on to about half way so it is out of the way.
Fold over elastic and headband ring
With shiny side up feed your elastic through the slider loop and

over the centre bar and through the second loop.

This is the underside of the slider.

Fold about 2cm over and glue down.  I used a hot glue gun, you can sewn or use your favourite fabric glue.
CIMG3518
You now have the ring in the centre of your elastic and the slider attached to one end.
CIMG3519
Take the other end of your elastic with shiny side up feed it through the buckle the same way you did earlier.

Once you have looped the elastic through the slider continue to pull the elastic along.
CIMG3521
The length you pull through does not really matter.
CIMG3522
Feed the end of your elastic through the ring overlap about 2cm and glue down.

You now have an adjustable headband.

How to make a 15mm woven ribbon headband.

You will need:
a hot glue gun,
4 x 64cm of 9mm grosgrain ribbon you can use grosgrain or satin ribbon.

I am using 2 x 64cm of Hot pink and 2 x 64cm of Cappuccino.
Glue 1 length of hot pink to the cappuccino.  Then do the same with the other 2 lengths.  Overlap about 1cm.
I am going to have the Hot pink as my center colour and the cappuccino as the outside colour.  With a dab of hot glue on the outside edge of the headband glue so the cappuccino is on the headband. Hot pink will face up to the right side.  Then glue a dab on the inside of the headband and glue the cappuccino to the headband with the hot pink up to the left.
The top colours are your inside diamonds and the bottom colours are your outside triangles.
Now bring the right side hot pink over the back of the headband to the left.  The Left hot pink over the front to the right.

Pull front hot pink behind the headband under the cappuccino over to the left.
The Left hot pink over the front to the right.
You now have 2 pink and a cappuccino on the left and 1 cappuccino on the right.

Pull the top hot pink(not the pink you just moved to the left) under the cappuccino to the front right side.
You will have 1 of each colour on each side.

Take the cappuccino from the right side bring it over the top pink and under the botton pink.
You will have 2 brown and 1 pink on the left and 1 pink on the right.

Take the brown pull it to the back of the headband under the pink and to the right.
You will now have 2 of each colour on each side.
So you are now back at the start of your weave.

Pull the front hot pink to the back under the brown and to the left side.

Pull the top hot pink(not the pink you just moved to the left) over to the front under the cappuccino to the right side.
You will have 1 of each colour on each side.

Take the cappuccino from the left side bring it behind the headband and under the pink.
You will have 2 brown and 1 pink on the left and 1 pink on the right.

Pull the top brown over the front under pink to the left and your back at the start again.

Keep repeating until you get to the end.  Pull the ribbons tight as you weave and if you have a gab push the ribbon back towards the start.  Use the clip to keep in place as you go.  The inside of the headband will look the same as the top or outside.
Once you get to the end do a weave so you cover the headband.  Hold with a clip.

The end of the headband.
Hold in place with clip.  Lift the pink and hot glue to the brown.
Do the same with the pink on the back.

Now glue the 2 browns together.

Snip of the extra ribbon and seal the ends with a lighter.

You can attach a clip under the ribbon and attach your hairbow or flower.

Finished.

Rosas para el pelo

Materiales
